What’s the difference between the small and large puppets group?
The small group is extremely intimate, with only 6 people. The structure for the small group is:
Spacious introductions
Go inside (3 minutes)
Spacious check in about what is coming up for your parts
Demo for 20 minutes
Heartfelt feedback (resonance and inspiration) after demo
Practice for 15 minutes
Sharing about practice
Heartfelt feedback and discussion after practice
Closing
The large group is a format I tried during the IFS June 1 Unconference, and it was a great success! The structure is:
Name & show the puppets/ objects you’re using
Go inside (2 minutes)
Journaling (1 minute)
Demo for 20 minutes
Heartfelt feedback (resonance and inspiration) after demo
Practice for 15 minutes
Sharing about practice
Closing
If you are looking for an intimate support group where you can share spaciously, the small group may be for you.
If you are looking for a group where you can watch a demo and do your own work, then the large group may fit your needs.
Because the small group is so very small, I do a Zoom call with everyone who joins and is the right fit, and we develop a small community over time.
The large group has less space to share — there is no check in at the beginning, and not as much discussion and sharing after the practice time. This may feel safer for some people but less safe for others — it’s just a different container for the work.
Because the large group is open to anyone who signs up and shows up, it may feel or be less safe than the small group.
However, I invite everyone in all groups, regardless of size, to read everything about the groups in advance —
the loving safety agreement
personal practice
demonstrations
vulnerable sharing
and agree to them before the group
If anyone in any group is unable to abide by these safety parameters, I will not allow them back into a group. I take safety VERY seriously.
If you feel you might not be able to abide by the group safety agreement or any of the approaches I have to the groups, I invite you to do some individual or group work elsewhere and join my groups if / when you feel able to meet these standards.
My groups are NOT a place to learn how to be kind and considerate and safe to other group members —
you must have those skills to join any group in the first place.
The small and large groups are for serious yet playful IFSers to do their self-transformation work in solidarity and connection with others in a safe, loving, fun container using finger puppets or other items to externalize their parts in the service of inner liberation!
